Estate Planning

Please fill out and submit a Leaving a Legacy Seminar Request Form to have a seminar conducted at your church.

The primary purpose of estate planning is to help you maximize the use of your possessions during your lifetime, and to plan for the distribution of your assets at the end of your life.

I am troubled when I hear that the majority of adult Americans do not have valid estate planning documents. As a result, oft-times individuals€ estates (be they large or small) can be UNNECESSARILY heavily taxed by the government. Worse yet, if something were to happen to the parents, their children could become wards of the state. I'm sure this also holds true for Christian individuals.

If you are one of those individuals, then this seminar is critical.  It will help you understand the design of your estate planning documents, to insure that your plans and wishes are expressed.

Also, many individuals who have estate-planning documents have not reviewed their documents recently.  As many as one-third of these documents are inadequate, and will not accomplish what the individuals believe they will accomplish.

Many people do not understand the necessity of coordinating property ownership with their legal documents, to make them effective.  Therefore, many will fail to distribute property according to the wishes of the individual.

So I urge you to not miss this estate and gift design seminar, presented by UPCI Stewardship professionals who desire to help you.

Continuation of Planning For The Expected article:

Pastor, you have an opportunity to inform your congregation and you have an obligation to them, to give them the tools to make sure their house is in order.  As you know, our government loves to get their hands on our money any way they can, but with proper education you and your church members can avoid many of the estate taxes that will hit them and their wallet.

With so many ways to give, there is no reason why individuals should not have the opportunity to be made aware of them and be able to take advantage of them.  An educated saint will be able to sew seeds into the Kingdom that will last far beyond their departure from this life.

As you consider a Leaving A Legacy Seminar, conducted by the UPCI Stewardship Group, know that at present the average per church in future gifts coming back to the local church is over $400,000.  If we were to continue this average over only 30% of our constituency, there would be over $500,000,000 being poured into the local church for Kingdom work, and there would be over $1,000,000,000 - that's right - 1 Billion dollars - being poured into the world and national ministries of the UPCI.

Today is the day for us to help others right their financial ships. The benefits to the ministries and the local church are tremendous, as well as providing many families with peace of mind that extends into their relationship with Christ.
